Alexa Mahabir
Alexa is a second-year JD student at Osgoode Hall Law School. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Science with Distinction from the University of Toronto, where she majored in Human Biology and Biology with a minor in Physiology.
At Osgoode, Alexa is a Clinic Fellow at the IP Innovation Clinic, where she supports early-stage inventors and start-ups with intellectual property matters and commercialization strategy. She has a strong interest in drug regulatory law and patent litigation, which she continues to explore through clinical work, coursework, and research throughout the academic year.
Before law school, Alexa worked in clinical and surgical counselling, supporting patient care and surgical coordination. She also contributed to research and patient support initiatives, with her work supporting several studies published in peer-reviewed journals.
Her scientific background and experience working in clinical and research settings shape her interest in legal work at the intersection of law, healthcare, and innovation.
